Qualifications

  • Understanding of hydronic and steam systems (low and high pressure).

Job description
Overview

The Opportunity: Tundra has an opening for Commercial Boiler Technicians based in Calgary. The successful candidate will receive a generous compensation package including an hourly rate in line with their training and experience, all equipment required to be effective in the field, cell phone, laptop, company vehicle for business use, and gas card.

Responsibilities
  • Manages their time effectively while handling all requests from clients. Responsible for inventory of parts in their possession.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Completes all necessary billing information daily and submits per guidelines.
  • Liaises with the sales department on technical matters.
  • Communicates with cross-functional departments to ensure complete client satisfaction.
  • Actively promotes the Tundra Preventative Maintenance service and promotes spare parts sales to clients.
  • Identifies potential opportunities for new equipment sales.
  • Responds to miscellaneous requests/inquiries, especially those related to warranty items and service issues.
  • Completes expenses and submits in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs maintenance of commercial hot water and steam boilers.
  • Installs, commissions, and troubleshoots commercial boilers and related equipment.
  • Performs minor repairs of commercial boilers and auxiliary equipment.
The Candidate
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Education requirements could include: Plumber / A Gasfitter with controls experience; Electrician / Power Engineer 4th; HV Technician / A Gasfitter; Plumber with Burner Control Systems experience; Power Engineer 3rd with some Instrumentation experience; ability to read/understand complex wiring diagrams.
  • Proven experience with high gas/dual fuel input appliances over 5,000,000 BTUH; fuel oil (diesel) firing operations/repair experience; understanding of hydronic and steam systems (low and high pressure).
  • This is a long-term position; factory and in-house training provided. Some out-of-town travel is required, as is rotating 24-hour on-call.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.
