Job description

The Body Shop Prepper is required to perform tasks in the repair of vehicles and reports to the Body Shop Supervisor. This is a full-time day shift position from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
• Removes, replaces interiors, trims, and accessories to gain access to damaged areas.
• Removes dents and repairs damaged surfaces or replaces damaged parts.
• Works with boy fillers, glazes, primers, and other painting materials.
• Grinds, files, sands, welds, and refinishes surfaces.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Comply with all relevant Health and Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Other mechanical repair work as required.

Basic Qualifications

• • Extensive knowledge of the application of body filler (Bondo) and surface preparation for a flawless surface for paint application.
  • 2 years experience preferred in a Bodyshop environment
  • Experience with sanding, buffing and polishing body panels.
  • Work with a team and or independently and follow instructions.
  • High school diploma
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Driver's Abstract

Work Conditions

• • Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Hazards associated with the trade.
  • Exposure to loud noises.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors.
