Job description

Homegrown Arts & Media Collective is seeking aTreasurer to join our Board of Directors. If you're a CPA or finance-savvy professional with a passion for youth empowerment, storytelling, and inclusive media, this is your chance to shape a movement from the inside out.

As Treasurer, you’ll provide fiscal oversight, strategic guidance, and help us build a sustainable future rooted in creativity, equity, and impact. This is a volunteer role with a high return on purpose.

50% Art, 50% Mental Health, Homegrown is a Calgary-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering young, diverse creatives and artists to create a positive and safe relationship with media.We mentor emerging artists, support underrepresented voices, and produce creative programming that bridges arts and community with a focus on mental health.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Loves numbers and art!
  • Has a drive to help the incoming generation on their career journey
  • Wants to give back to Calgary creative community in an intentional and meaninful way

Dedication:

  • Offer 12 hours/month to financial stewardship and board governance on a semi-working board
  • Collaborate with a passionate team of artists, changemakers, and professionals
  • Strengthen our financial planning, reporting, and accountability
  • Help us scale our impact while staying true to our grassroots values

You’ll work closely with the Executive Director and Board Chair to:

  • Review and advise on financial statements and budgets
  • Oversee financial policy development and risk management
  • Assist with grant compliance and funder reporting
  • Guide long-term financial sustainability strategies
