About Us

DCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children by providing high-quality child care and early learning programs. We are proud to operate:

• 4 licensed child care centres under the Downtown Montessori name
• A licensed Home Child Care Agency
• Before and After School Programs
• An EarlyON Child and Family Centre

We are also expanding: with recent funding secured, we will be opening new preschool spaces in one of our centres, with more growth opportunities ahead.

The Role

As a Board Member, you will:

• Provide strategic oversight and governance to support the growth and sustainability of DCC
• Contribute your professional expertise in finance, marketing, human resources, or related areas
• Advocate for high-quality early learning and child care in Toronto
• Work collaboratively with a diverse, passionate team of directors and staff leadership

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a mature, committed professional who is passionate about giving back to their community and improving outcomes for children and families. Previous board experience is welcome but not required.

Time Commitment

Board members attend regular meetings (approximately 6–8 per year) and may also contribute to committee work or special projects.
