Job Summary

Packaging Operator A-Auto Multi-line operates multiple lines of automated packaging equipment.

Essential Functions
  1. Operates automated packaging, bulk-bagging, and palletizing equipment.
  2. Sets-up equipment, performs daily inspections, and makes minor adjustments to the equipment as necessary.
  3. Ensures the process safely drives quality and production to standards/targets.
  4. Samples packaged product to verify it meets specifications.
  5. Identifies non-conformance events, documents event, and takes appropriate actions.
  6. Performs manual tasks such as hand stacking product.
  7. Periodically weighs product packages to ensure weight specifications are met.
  8. Inspects supplies such as bags, bulk bags and pallets to ensure usable quality and quantity levels are present and to inventory levels.
  9. Operates forklift to load trailers and/or move material. (Only if assigned, properly trained, and training documented)
  10. Interacts with the computer systems for compliance, reporting, and machine set-up.
  11. Inputs environmental, safety, production, maintenance, and shipping data utilizing the CMMS, QMS, AS/400, spreadsheets and/or hand written paper reports.
  12. Spots, sets-up, loads and moves bulk trucks. (Only if assigned, properly trained and, training documented)
  13. Spots, sets-up, loads and moves bulk railcars. (Only if assigned, properly trained, and training documented)
  14. Observes all safety rules, regulation, and precautions.
  15. Keeps areas clean and free of clutter.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Must meet the assessment requirements for this position.
  2. Must be able to use technology to evaluate/communicate the status of the process/product and must pass computer literacy assessment.
  3. Must be able to understand and act upon all safety and environmental requirements and other related communications.
  4. Must be able to visually differentiate between products and be able to hear audible alarms, instructions, and commands.
  5. Must be able to read and understand Bill of Lading.
  6. Must be able to efficiently interact with and use computer systems.
  7. Must be able to comprehend and follow quality management system.
Physical Requirements
  1. Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
  2. Must be able to lift 60 pounds frequently—duration of shift if necessary.
  3. Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently.
  4. Must be able to climb ladders up to 110 feet.
  5. Must be able to talk and hear radio communications as well as phone.
Compensation
  • Pay Type: Hourly
  • Hiring Rate: $21.50
