The ideal candidate will have grade 12 education, clerical experience, and knowledge of the Block Watch Program. Posting #: 2025-67 Title: Block Watch Program Clerk (Full Time) Department: Chilliwack RCMP - Public Safety and Social Development Duties: The incumbent in this class assists management to achieve an efficient operation at the Community Police Office by providing reliable performance in planning, coordination, operation and administration of the Block Watch Watch Programs, observing the sensitivity of the position and complying with all acceptable security and safety practices in accordance with municipal policies.
The incumbent will perform a variety of typing and clerical work of moderate complexity and responsibility; answer and direct incoming calls to the appropriate program and in person inquires. The incumbent will be required to type/prepare documents, correspondence/material from copies, rough drafts, general instructions pertaining to the various programs offered through the crime prevention office. The incumbent will be involved in the day to day functions of the various programs, Block Watch program; and must be familiar with the City /Speed Watch and Crime Free Multi Housing Programs. The incumbent will be responsible for the organization of volunteers. . The incumbent will be required to liase with various RCMP members, Community Organizations, Media Relations, and other Police Detachments. The incumbent will assist in the organization and promotion of RCMP Crime Prevention programs. The incumbent will be responsible in ensuring all needed materials and documents are organized and readily available.
Education: -Must have a minimum of grade 12 education augmented by typing and commercial courses, post secondary education in Criminology or Social Sciences. - OR - an acceptable combination of education and experience; Skills: -Must have a valid B.C. Driver’s License;
