Job Duties and Qualifications

Job Duties:

  • Under general supervision, performs standard operations specifically used in the Fixed Cutter Drill Bit Repair Centers to repair fixed cutter drill bits to include receive and de-can repair bits, post braze clean up, tip grind bit gage using NC and manual machines, final bit clean up, paint, label, package and ship bits.
  • Maintain certifications in the use of product lifting devices, overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
  • Perform critical to quality audits, tests, visuals and process checks.
  • Qualify as competent on one or more Repair Center Special Processes to include powder matrix repair, hard face rebuilds, API upper section repair, braze repair and bit evaluation.
  • Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed.
  • Job tasks, correctly performed, have minimal impact upon the viability of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills are typically acquired through 1 to 3 years of experience in Bit Repair.
  • Entry level welding experience and machine shop experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work Saturdays during the busy season.
