Primary Purpose

The Biostatistician (Masters) collaborates with clinical investigators to determine study design, contributes to protocol development, writes statistical analysis plans, performs statistical analysis, makes statistical inferences, and writes and presents reports summarizing findings, including publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clinical investigators to determine study design;
  • Write sections of protocols that require statistical input;
  • Review protocols and case report forms to ensure that protocol objectives are met and standards are maintained;
  • Generate treatment allocations in randomized clinical research studies and ensure proper implementation;
  • Lead the project team’s development of statistical analysis plans and programs to perform analyses and display study data;
  • Perform statistical analyses; write and validate application programs;
  • Implement data and safety monitoring reports to ensure participants’ safety;
  • Develop metrics and generate quality control reports to optimize the performance of clinical sites and the coordinating center;
  • Generate study reports for internal and external monitoring committees and regulatory bodies;
  • Participate in professional development activities both within and outside the company;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • MS in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field;
  • At least 2 years of related experience is expected but not required;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with statistical methods and applications in clinical research;
  • Strong programming skills in SAS and/or R;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Effective communication of technical concepts, both written and oral.
