Job description

Summary

Perform a variety of routine and complex tasks associated with the installation, service and calibration of therapeutic, diagnostic or life-sustaining biomedical instruments. This position performs and manages operations on a day-to-day basis, collaborates and maintains positive relationships with customers, and takes direction from the RSM or dedicated site manager. The position also ensures that our services are in compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Knowledge and Customer Service

  • Apply knowledge and experience of technology and / or equipment to repair and maintain devices.
  • Create and maintain customer relationships and expectations.
  • Ability to travel to other customer sites periodically, when needed.
  • Perform repairs and planned maintenance on a daily basis.

Key Performance Measures

  • Take direction from RSM or dedicated site manager.
  • Answer questions and meet with others to discern the root cause of technological / process problems.
  • Manage inventory of shop supplies.
  • Manage day-to-day operations and ensure open work orders are prioritized and that PM inspections are documented.
  • Account Management and Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers by employing interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Effectively collaborate with customers and vendors to develop win-win solutions.
  • Job Requirements

    Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Biomedical Engineering required, Bachelor degree preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience in a hospital clinical engineering department preferred.
  • Ability to travel to other sites on a regular basis for support.
  • Technical certification such as A+, CBET, CRES, CLES, or CCE is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain Biomedical Equipment Technician certification by the International Certification Commission is required.
  • Specific Requirements

  • Ability to manage a facility’s equipment fleet with minimal aid.
  • Experienced in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and their various purposes.
  • Knowledge of electronic circuits.
  • Knowledge of electronic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and illustrated part drawings of biomedical instrumentation.
  • Ability to operate in a sterile environment if necessary.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays if necessary.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to maintain neat and accurate records.
  • Working knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of email, database management, spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Ability to perform basic financial analysis and calculate budgets, revenue, and costs.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.
