Overview

Pave Talent, hiring on behalf of our client, is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Support Engineer – Night Shift (11PM to 7AM Mon to Fri) for a dedicated site in Burlington, NC. Role Impact

This is not a traveling field role – you’ll be embedded full-time on-site at a mission-critical client laboratory. As the overnight engineer, you’ll keep equipment running, solve technical issues under pressure, and directly support lab staff. Success means high uptime, satisfied clients, and smooth operations during a major growth phase.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and electrical safety testing on biomedical automation systems
  • Document service activities to meet compliance/manufacturer standards
  • Train and support lab operators on safe and effective equipment use
  • Serve as the primary on-site technical contact, managing issues with professionalism
  • Support installations and transition projects during site expansion
  • Participate in on-call coverage every 4th weekend (overtime eligible)
Required Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of hands-on technical service experience (FSE, biomedical tech, or electromechanical technician)
  • Associate degree in Biomedical, Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent training/experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with preventive maintenance and calibration experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service ability
  • Willingness to work night shift (11PM–7AM, Mon–Fri) + rotating on-call weekends
Qualifications
  • Experience with lab automation or microbiology equipment
  • Familiarity with basic networking and system connectivity
  • Comfort working in regulated environments requiring PPE
