Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility across all staff. The continuous improvement of quality and safety is essential in this role.

Reporting to the Manager or delegate, the successful candidate will:

  1. Inspect, test, maintain, and perform complex repairs on biomedical and other equipment in designated hospital areas such as Radiology, Respiratory, Anaesthesia, and the Operating Room.
  2. Perform acceptance tests for new biomedical equipment.
  3. Modify equipment to enhance performance and safety.
  4. Provide technical advice to equipment users.
Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

Graduation from a recognized program in Biomedical Engineering Technology is required; however, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. A valid Class 5 vehicle license is also required.
