The Biomechanical Engineer will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of researchers specializing in joint biomechanics. The team includes Orthopaedic Surgeons and Engineering Professors with expertise in imaging, modeling, and biomechanical research.
The incumbent will be based at Kingston Health Sciences Center (KHSC) and Queen's University. The facilities feature a fully equipped biomechanics laboratory with an actuated shoulder and wrist simulator. The role involves working on biomechanics projects, including joint simulation studies. Additionally, the position provides access to a state-of-the-art motion capture lab and a biplanar videoradiography laboratory. These resources enable comprehensive investigations of joint function, muscle-tendon dynamics, and arthromechanics using both in vitro and in vivo models.
