About this opportunity :

This is a permanent full-time opportunity for the position of Biologist or Agrologist in our Grande Prairie office. Our ideal candidate has in-depth experience as a Biologist, Agrologist or Environmental Scientist, with a specialty in fisheries, wildlife, wetlands, soils and / or vegetation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for :

• Conducting / leading field surveys including aquatic or terrestrial components of baseline inventories, effects assessments and / or environmental monitoring.
• Conducting / assisting with data entry, analysis and technical reporting including permit applications, environmental assessments, environmental management plans.
• Communicating with existing and potential clients leveraging your technical knowledge as opportunities arise in collaboration with the EDI team.
• Participating proactively in EDI’s health and safety program.
• Developing project scope of work and associated cost estimates.
• Collaborating with the EDI team to execute proposals.

Job requirements include :

• Demonstrated experience leading a field crew for aquatic or terrestrial components of baseline inventory, effects assessment and / or monitoring surveys, subsequent data analysis and reporting.
• Previous environmental consulting experience that demonstrates understanding of key provincial and federal legislation regulating industrial projects.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or a Diploma in a related discipline and 3 years of related experience or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• A professional designation (e.g., RPBio, PBiol, PAg or PGe.) recognized in Alberta and / or BC.
• Class 5 driver’s license.
