Job Description

We currently have an opening for a Junior Biologist in our Calgary office.

You are an entry level scientist motivated to do impactful work tackling real-world environmental challenges on municipal infrastructure projects in the Calgary area. You enjoy local fieldwork, learning new skills, and applying creative communication and innovative thinking to every task. You possess a desire to work in a dynamic team environment on interesting, major infrastructure projects and can also work independently and take ownership of your projects.

What you will be doing:

  • Engaging in meaningful field assessment experiences based in the Calgary area, with mentorship opportunities in a supportive work environment.
  • Building professional working relationships with other scientists and engineers to foster intentional multi-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Communicating our scientific findings to project teams, and contributing to sustainable designs for municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Contributing your perspectives and values to our thriving workplace culture in the Calgary office, where staff support each other with field efforts, vacation coverage, and training.
  • Taking full ownership of your work projects.
  • Summarizing your scientific data and field observations in deliverables and reports, with the support of our in-office senior scientists and environmental managers.
  • Participating in your professional development through training programs, conference presentations, and involvement in professional associations.


Job Requirements

What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Preference will be given to individuals eligible to obtain their professional designation (P.Ag., P.Biol.) within three to five years.
  • Willingness to contribute to our supportive Calgary office workplace culture.
  • Passion for applied biology and community impact.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-driven, innovative environment.
  • Eagerness to grow and take on new challenges.
