What We Look For In a Biochemistry Tutor

• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at breaking down metabolic pathway regulation, enzyme inhibition mechanisms, and bioenergetics calculations. Guides students through Lineweaver-Burk plot analysis, free energy calculations, protein purification strategies, and interpreting gel electrophoresis results. Emphasizes molecular-level reasoning and connects biochemistry to drug design, clinical diagnostics, and genetic disease mechanisms.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with undergraduate biochemistry curricula and common challenges such as memorizing metabolic pathways, understanding allosteric regulation, and integrating organic chemistry with biological function. Adapts instruction using pathway diagrams, molecular visualization software, and MCAT-style practice to support pre-medical students, biology majors, and students preparing for biochemistry comprehensive examinations.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
