Your new company:

Looking to join a company with close to a century of experience in the industry? Our client is known for their work in the mechanical industry and has employed a diverse group of trades that have cemented themselves as leaders in the construction industry. They specialize in projects across multiple sectors, including Transit, Medical, Heavy Industrial, High-Rise Tower, and commercial, just to name a few! To date, they have opened several locations across North America and are committed to achieving excellence in the industry whilst also contributing to the community. They try to partner with local schools & charities and acknowledge minority groups in their hiring practices and organizational values. A long-standing career with growth potential awaits the right candidate!

Your new Role:

We are looking for an individual who will generate fabrication models, plans, presentations, and other deliverables based on issued construction information. You will work with reality capture processes, such as Point Cloud and 3D Scanning, and assist in clash detection and mitigation. Interfacing with client-issued models and producing fabrication-level construction models and drawing packages will be key responsibilities. Additionally, you will assist in the development and maintenance of templates and modeling procedures, work within construction project management teams, and collaborate with project estimation groups to assist in change orders or conceptual design changes. Staying up to date on technology relevant to BIM in the construction industry is essential. You will periodically evaluate BIM technology and processes with the BIM Committee, assist Project Managers with job bids, attend post-tender meetings with General Contractors, and present the status of BIM to stakeholders. Other assignments may be required as needed.

What you’ll need to Succeed:

To excel as a BIM/VDC Designer, you should have 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in relevant Building and Infrastructure BIM applications, such as Autodesk Revit, is essential. Knowledge of plumbing codes would be an asset, as would an understanding of VDC requirements and Level of Detail (LOD). Experience with Trimble SysQue is also beneficial. You should be adept at developing 3D models and transferring knowledge to 2D drawings. A working knowledge of AutoCAD, Procore, Navisworks, and Revit is considered an asset, and strong proficiency in MS Office applications, such as Excel and Word, is required.

What you’ll get in Return:

In this role, you will receive a competitive base salary ($70K-$90K) dependent on experience, 3 weeks’ vacation, an extensive benefits plan, and opportunities for professional development, including training programs, certifications, and mentorship, empowering you to reach your full potential. Our client is known for their diverse work and cutting-edge technology, in-house VDC Program allowing you to expand your skill set and stay ahead of the curve in the construction industry.
