Job summary

RoBIM Technologies Inc. in Edmonton is seeking a BIM Software Engineer to model detailed panelized assemblies in Revit and build plugins that support robotic fabrication workflows.

You will enable seamless data exchange between Revit models and RoBIM’s platforms, enforce naming/metadata standards, and collaborate with software and fabrication teams to optimize materials and sequencing. Remote work is possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit with experience modeling detailed panelized or prefab assemblies.
• Solid understanding of BIM standards and data management, including naming and metadata practices.
• Strong programming skills in C#, or Dynamo/Revit API scripting.
• Experience with data exchange formats (IFC) and backend/API integration.
• Ability to manage consistent modeling workflows and validate models for fabrication readiness.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to document and refine modeling/development processes.

Responsibilities

• Model BIM assemblies in Revit for prefabrication projects following existing processes.
• Design, develop, and maintain Revit plugins/tools to support panelized construction and robotics.
• Enable data exchange between Revit models and RoBIM’s fabrication platforms via IFC/JSON/APIs.
• Enforce robust naming, tagging, and metadata standards for traceability.
• Contribute to optimization of material usage and sequencing in robotic fabrication workflows.
• Collaborate with software and fabrication teams to validate outputs in production.
• Maintain compatibility with current Revit versions and ensure plugin stability.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation and efficiency.
