Job summary

Ontario Transit Group (OTG) is leading BIM coordination for the Ontario Line South Civil package in Toronto. We are seeking a BIM Coordinator to oversee federated models, ensure BIM standards, and support design and construction with model-based information.

The role emphasizes collaboration across design partners, contractors, and field teams, with a focus on Revit, Navisworks, and 4D/5D planning. Salary range CAD 75k–95k and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in project management, construction or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years BIM experience, including at least 2 years on projects utilizing BIM coordination processes.
  • Experience on large infrastructure, transit, tunneling, or rail projects is an asset.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D for civil infrastructure works.
  • Familiarity with BEP, ISO 19650, and Common Data Environment (CDE) processes is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and model coordination.
  • Excellent collaboration, problem-solving abilities and multi-priority management.

Responsibilities

  • Aggregate, coordinate, and maintain federated BIM models by integrating design consultants and trade subcontractor models.
  • Review 3D models to ensure compliance with BIM standards, quality requirements, and best practices.
  • Perform model coordination activities, including clash detection and resolution of spatial conflicts.
  • Develop BIM coordination reports, issue logs, and model-based communication processes.
  • Maintain BIM content libraries, templates, and Dynamo scripts per project standards.
  • Support development and updating of BIM models during construction per information requirements.
  • Produce sections, viewpoints, visualizations, and other model-based deliverables for coordination.
  • Provide quantity take-offs and generation of schedules from BIM models.
  • Coordinate laser scan and survey data to support existing conditions verification.
  • Deliver BIM training and model/navigation guidance to team members.

Job description

Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets are undertaking the design, build, and finance of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

What is the project?

A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River). Stations:

  • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
  • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
  • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Position Summary:

The BIM Coordinator is a key member of the BIM Team within the Construction Technical Office project team. The role is responsible for supporting the implementation, coordination, and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes throughout the design and construction phases of the project, with a focus on digital engineering.

Working collaboratively with design partners, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders, the BIM Coordinator will ensure the quality, accuracy, and integration of project models while supporting project delivery through effective digital engineering practices.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 CAD - $95,000 CAD, plus additional benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Aggregate, coordinate, and maintain federated BIM models by integrating design consultants and trade subcontractor models, ensuring all models remain current and aligned with project requirements.
  • Review and assess 3D models developed by designers, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure compliance with project BIM standards, quality requirements, and modeling best practices.
  • Perform model coordination activities, including visual reviews and automated clash detection, to identify, track, and resolve spatial conflicts.
  • Develop and manage BIM coordination reports, issue logs, BCF workflows, and model-based communication processes.
  • Maintain and enhance project BIM content libraries, including BIM objects, templates, and Dynamo scripts, in accordance with project BIM/CAD standards.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and updating of project BIM models during construction, ensuring compliance with project standards and information requirements.
  • Produce sections, viewpoints, visualizations, and other model-based deliverables to support multidisciplinary coordination and stakeholder understanding.
  • Support engineering and construction teams by performing quantity take-offs and generating quantity reports and schedules from BIM models.
  • Coordinate and integrate laser scan and survey data into project models when required to support existing conditions verification and project planning.
  • Incorporate field and survey information into BIM models and assist in the development of accurate as-built models.
  • Deliver BIM software and model navigation training to project team members and stakeholders.
  • Generate and export CAD drawings and construction documentation from approved BIM models in accordance with project BIM/CAD standards.
  • Provide BIM support to construction and fit-out teams through the preparation of model-based and drawing deliverables.
  • Mentor and support CAD Technicians, Graduate Engineers, and other junior team members.
  • Participate in continuous learning, professional development, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Support and comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and project requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, innovation, and environmental responsibility across the project team.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma; focused on project management, construction or a related field is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of BIM experience, including at least 2 years working on projects utilizing BIM coordination processes.
  • Experience working on large infrastructure, transit, tunneling, or rail projects is an asset.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D for civil infrastructure works.
  • Knowledge of Synchro, Fuzor, Dynamo, or other BIM automation and 4D/5D planning tools is an asset.
  • Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), ISO 19650, and Common Data Environment (CDE) processes is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, preferably with experience in station, architectural, or building-based projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks Manage, including model federation, clash detection, and coordination workflows.
  • Strong understanding of BIM standards, information management principles, and model quality assurance practices.
  • Experience producing construction documentation and coordinating multidisciplinary models.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to model quality.
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
