Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking Professional Security Guards to join our Government site team in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The role requires monitoring security systems, incident response, and communications across a Government of Canada contract, with a clear emphasis on reliability and confidentiality.

The position offers full-time employment, rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays) and opportunities to advance within a large security services organization.

Qualifications

  • Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence.
  • Must have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years in order to obtain a Reliability Government Clearance.
  • Minimum of six months to 1 year of Security Guard experience
  • Fluency in English & French (spoken and written).
  • Reliable transportation to work at multiple sites within Ottawa
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • No Parking on site

Responsibilities

  • Monitor CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and other electronic security systems.
  • Receive, assess, prioritize, and respond to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations.
  • Dispatch security personnel and coordinate incident response activities.
  • Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and operational records.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively in English and French with security personnel, site management, Government of Canada representatives, and emergency responders.
  • Escalate incidents in accordance with established SOPs.
  • Monitor, identify, and report security threats, operational disruptions, and critical incidents.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations and gather information for incident reporting.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive government and operational information.
  • Support emergency management and business continuity activities as required.

Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking Professional Security Guardsin Canada.

Allied Universal is seeking professional and highly motivated Security Professionals to join our Security Operations team in OTTAWA , Ontario, supporting a Government of Canada contract.

This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, thrive in fast-paced operational environments, and are committed to delivering exceptional security services. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring security systems, coordinating emergency communications, responding to incidents, and maintaining situational awareness while adhering to Government of Canada security protocols and established operational procedures.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, exercises sound judgment under pressure, and demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and integrity.

Applicants must have resided continuously in Canada for a minimum of five (5) years. (Citizen or PR holder)

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Status Security Clearance. An existing Reliability Status or Secret Security Clearance is considered a strong asset.

Position Details

Position: Security Professionals - Government site

Location: Ottawa Ontario (Downtown Ottawa)

Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

Employment Type: full-Time

Schedule: Monday through Sunday

Hours: Various shifts (days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays)

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and other electronic security systems.
  • Receive, assess, prioritize, and respond to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations.
