General Information:

Job title: Patient Accounts Representative

Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30pm

Weekend rotation: No Weekends

Holiday rotation: Paid Holidays

Position Summary:

The Patient Accounts Representative position makes sure patient accounts have up-to-date information so billing and claims are correct.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Send out claims to insurance providers.
  • Ensure patient account information is correct.
  • Work claims and denials to make sure proper payment is received for services rendered.
  • Take payments from patients.
  • Answering patient phone calls regarding billing questions about their insurance and/or statements.
  • Reach out to insurance companies regarding claims and coverage.
  • Mail/fax proof and verification to insurance companies for claims to be accepted and paid.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree or equivalent business experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of related work experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a medical billing required.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance systems (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) required.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
