How You'll Make an Impact

We seek an entry-level water resources planner with 2+ years' experience in water resources and watershed planning. You will collaborate with agencies, municipalities, and organizations to provide comprehensive land and natural resources planning, including IRWMPs, GSPs, Watershed Plans, and related documents. This hybrid role involves 2-3 days in the office weekly.

Our work emphasizes the importance of natural resources for societal prosperity, equity, environmental justice, and resilience to climate change impacts such as droughts, wildfires, sea-level rise, and flooding.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform planning duties from entitlement through project implementation for various projects.
  • Prepare planning documents like IRWM Plans, GSP sections, Drought Response, Climate Resilience, Wildfire Action, Hazard Mitigation, and other plans.
  • Research applicable laws, funding, and local regulations.
  • Collect and interpret scientific, socio-economic, and outreach data.
  • Participate in public outreach, including bilingual presentations.
  • Assist with grant applications and project scoping.
  • Conduct spatial analysis and create maps using ArcGIS and Adobe Suite.
  • Represent Dudek professionally, demonstrating creativity and innovation.
  • Collaborate with project managers to support business interests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in planning or related field from an accredited college.
  • 2+ years' relevant experience in water resources planning, project implementation, and related areas.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, with strong communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and active personal automobile liability insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree is strongly encouraged.
  • Interest in diverse projects, California law, and bilingual outreach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and inquisitiveness.

Compensation: $60,000-$85,000 annually

  • Final salary based on experience, education, skills, and location. Successful candidates will pass pre-employment drug and background checks.

Working Conditions

Environment

  • Remote or office-based, using standard office equipment.
  • Occasional site visits outdoors, with potential exposure to noise, weather, and moving vehicles.

Physical Requirements

  • Long periods of sitting or standing at a computer.
  • Participation in meetings and communication via phone and virtual platforms.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work.
