Job description

One of TEKsystems top insurance clients is actively hiring for a professional " Bilingual (French/English) Underwriting Assistant". This role is perfect for a new graduate looking to start their career in the insurance industry.

Job Description

To assist the Toronto office team in maintaining efficient underwriting processes and providing customer service to clients. In this role you will be supporting 8 lines of specialty risk and initially start supporting 1 underwriter, but then move up to supporting 3 underwriters once fully trained.

3 main responsibilities:

1) Underwriting support: Support the Underwriters in the delivery of an effective and efficient administration service. Provide pre-underwriting and rating support to Underwriters and other staff. Ensure timely and accurate data entry and scanning of risk documentation onto all systems within agreed service levels. Specifically checking agreed % of risk entries as required. Data verification, integrity & accuracy. And Photocopying, logging and scanning quotes and declinatures, filing, archiving and scanning.

2) Reporting: Provide accurate management information to upper management team and underwriters. Produce ad hoc reports, presentations and marketing literature to upper managements, underwriters and other members of staff as requested.

3) Broker/Client Interaction: Provide a professional service to brokers in person, writing, email and telephone. Maintain and develop key relationships including brokers and external clients, responding to client queries in an accurate and timely fashion. Attend client meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • Fully Bilingual in both French and English (Reading, writing and speaking - testing is administered through the interview process)

  • 6-months of work experience in customer service facing roles (interest in working in insurance is a must)

  • Able to commute to downtown Toronto (x4 a week onsite - potentially move to a hybrid x2 week in office)

  • College/University Diploma

  • Computer savvy (Excel included)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $29.00/hr.
