Job summary

ABL Employment is assisting a global rail technology leader in recruiting a Software Analyst – Testing (Intermediate) for the Scarborough, ON area. This 12-month contract role focuses on in-phase, black-box, interface and system integration testing, working with developers and systems engineers.

You will analyze requirements, develop test plans, execute tests in lab and desktop simulations, run stress scenarios and help improve testing methods.

Qualifications

3–5 years of software testing experience.
CBTC/rail signaling testing experience preferred.
Experience with interface and system integration testing.
Ability to analyze logs and investigate defects.

Responsibilities

Analyze system, subsystem and software requirements to define validation methods and test cases.
Develop and maintain test plans, procedures and test cases. Write new test procedures and operational scenarios where needed.
Perform interface and system integration testing in the lab and in desktop simulations.
Run operational and stress test scenarios.
Analyze logs, data files and design docs to investigate test anomalies.
Work with developers and engineers to find root causes of failures.
Prepare test reports and clearly communicate results to engineering staff.
