Group Disability is seeking an action-oriented individual with strong team spirit, client-oriented service, high autonomy, and problem-solving skills to join its fast-paced team as a Short Term Disability (STD) Intake Case Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong service relationships with plan members, plan sponsors, healthcare providers, and internal partners.
- Identify and efficiently gather outstanding claims assessment information.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness in all tasks.
- Communicate effectively in writing (emails, formal letters) and via telephone with stakeholders.
- Manage time and organize tasks effectively.
- Review incoming STD claim applications against established criteria.
- Follow up on outstanding information.
- Maintain regular contact with plan members, sponsors, and healthcare providers via email and phone.
- Triages claims through contractual, medical, functional, and vocational analysis.
- Approve, process, and manage STD claims following established procedures.
- Transfer claims to higher levels when necessary.
- Collaborate with internal partners to meet client service standards.
- Prioritize and re-prioritize conflicting demands under tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bilingual in French and English to support clients across jurisdictions outside Quebec.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and planning skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and handle high workloads with short turnaround times.
- Effective team collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage job pressures professionally.
- Positive attitude and influence within the team.
- Strong customer service skills and relationship management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Previous experience with Group Disability Claims is an asset.
