About the role
Join the Procurement Team where we provide expert guidance in sourcing and procurement while upholding the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and operational excellence. As a Senior Specialist, Strategic Procurement, you will lead strategic procurement initiatives with a strong focus on compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who thrives in a dynamic, high-impact environment and is passionate about driving value and integrity in procurement.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and maintain procurement compliance programs, policies, and tools.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure adherence to procurement regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to procurement staff on compliance and best practices.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes and update procurement frameworks accordingly.
  • Advise senior leadership on sourcing strategies and risk mitigation.
  • Lead strategic procurement projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Promote vendor diversity and implement strategies to increase diverse supplier participation.
  • Benchmark with peer organizations to align with best practices and reduce procurement risk.

What you should have:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Procurement, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience of procurement or supply management in large organizations.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, compliance, and sourcing strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage risk, drive operational excellence, and lead initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience developing procurement tools, templates, and training materials.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence decision-making.
  • Bilingual in French and English.

It would be great if you also had:

  • CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or SCMA (Supply Chain Management Association) certification.
  • Knowledge of CFTA (Canadian Free Trade Agreement), CETA (Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement), and their application in public procurement.
  • Experience with ESG (Environnement, Social et Governance) procurement principles, diversity and inclusion best practices, indigenous procurement practices.
  • Background in IT procurement supporting digital transformation initiatives.
