Purpose

The Strategic Initiatives team, reporting to the SVP & COO of International Banking, supports the execution of IB’s strategy by managing capital allocation through investment initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment across Latin America and the Caribbean.

We collaborate with business line executives in the IB Head Office, Canada, and the Americas to support the Bank’s strategic investments. The incumbent will ensure the goals, plans, and execution of IB Portfolio initiatives align with the Bank’s business strategies and objectives.

What You’ll Do:
  • Develop and review business cases, prepare committees, support portfolio management, analyze data, and assist in capital allocation decisions.
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders to drive execution and monitor progress of IB strategic projects.
  • Conduct financial analyses to support decision-making, including business cases and post-implementation reviews.
  • Support governance processes and oversee investment requests to ensure alignment with targets and performance metrics.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and governance.
  • Coordinate strategic support with IB stakeholders and manage investment governance and reporting lifecycle.
  • Generate insights and reports to support executive decisions on project management and financial performance.
  • Promote a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure adherence to risk management frameworks and promote the Bank’s risk culture.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or related; advanced certifications like CA, CFA, CPA, MBA are assets.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis and business investment analysis.
  • Experience with PPM and/or SmartStream tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills, capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Spanish, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing relationships across teams and with senior executives.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
