Inspire Global Assessments (Inspire) formally known as the Nursing Community Assessment Services (NCAS) is a branded service of the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. The expected starting base salary for this position is $60000 $67000 annually depending on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.

What youll be doing :

The Project Officer (PO) is key to ensuring a range of provincial and national projects move forward successfully. The PO is responsible for providing vital support to a project by monitoring deadlines for each project and closely monitoring the project schedule. The PO works independently to balance priorities and workflow to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Inspire Global Assessments (Inspire) team. The PO manages deadlines and time pressures and exercises initiative judgment and problem-solving skills to complete work.

Key responsibilities :

  • Engage with a broad range of stakeholders (government subject matter experts academic institutions field-testers vendors assessment center staff caterers service providers etc.) to support project activities and enhance stakeholder relationships by coordinating and administrating communications schedules and logistics.
  • Gather and organize specific financial reports and budget outlines and oversee the development of the project and to ensure team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently.
  • Under the direction of the Executive Director Inspire support in the drafting and writing of new and existing project management policies and processes.
  • Document the projects creation development and execution as well as the projects scope budget and justification.
  • Organize and prepare a variety of project presentations project charters project reports and project communications.
  • Assist ED Inspire with drafting proposals and projects plans as needed.
  • Track and engage in various projects management activities using project management tools such as clickup and visio to ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Provide logistical support for all projects and events (workshops exam writing sessions meetings etc.) applying project management skills to event organization and coordination; work includes organizing agendas scheduling transportation organizing catering and invoicing etc.
  • Write and update Inspire website and social media platforms as needed.
  • Manage all documents systems and databases to ensure projects run smoothly.
  • Develop and update Inspires policies and procedures guidelines and manuals as required.
  • Develop administer and analyze surveys in collaboration with Inspire staff to support project data and evaluation strategies; collate data and reports on trends. Provide feedback and recommendations.
  • Perform general administrative duties to support projects including invoicing data entry contract preparation engaging with suppliers etc.
  • Conduct research into technology or resource requirements for specific projects.

What youll bring :

  • Bachelors degree in business administration or in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education training and experience in projects and programs.
  • A minimum of three years of related experience supporting projects and / or programs.
  • Bilingual / fluent in French and English (written and oral) is a requirement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to demonstrate effective communication collaboration and customer service skills.
  • Experience engaging with a range of stakeholders including government suppliers / vendors and cross functional teams.
  • Experience in developing guidelines and policies and skill in visual communications including PowerPoint and / or other presentation software.
  • Experience organizing all logistical aspects of meetings and workshops (in person and online).
  • Advanced skills in standard office software applications in particular Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Visio).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Demonstratable skills using project management software and database management.
  • Experience with navigating social media platforms (website Facebook LinkedIn).
  • Able to take initiative and exercise independent judgment and action with minimal supervision.
  • Able to be detailed oriented and to organize and prioritize own work with minimal supervision.
  • An eagerness to learn and grow and to take on new projects and assignments.
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion of information.
  • Relevant training and / or certification in Project Management is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Canadian colonial impacts on Indigenous people in social and health contexts including social economic political and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and knowledge of Indigenous-specific anti-racism and accompanying reports (e.g. The Truth & Reconciliation Commissions 94 Calls to Action (2015) the In Plain Sight Report (2020) and Reclaiming Power and Places Calls for Justice (2019)) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity inclusion and cultural humility as they apply to nursing and midwifery practice in health care.
