We’re seeking a Project Leader for our Douglas Point and Gentilly locations to develop long-term decommissioning plans for Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) reactors. In this role, you’ll oversee the execution of crucial activities like characterization, engineering, and cost estimates. If managing complex projects while ensuring they meet schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives excites you, we want to hear from you!

What will you be doing!

  • Assist the Project Manager in leading medium-risk decommissioning projects to meet schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Plan, budget, and allocate resources, defining project scope, deliverables, and timing, potentially leading 3-4 projects totaling $5M to $10M annually over 3-5 years.
  • Assemble project teams, including planning coordinators, to estimate costs based on work breakdown structures.
  • Support scope definition, project priorities, and responsibilities.
  • Review project progress regularly with the team and motivate members to meet quality, scope, and cost constraints.
  • Secure resources through managers to execute projects.
  • Control project scope, manage risks, and communicate issues impacting costs or timelines.
  • Help establish and administer budgets and schedules, and report on project performance.
  • Lead the delivery of project objectives, set performance goals, and provide feedback to staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering or Science, or membership in a relevant professional organization, or equivalent certification (e.g., PMP).
  • Experience: At least 5 years in project management within reactor operations or nuclear decommissioning, with knowledge of reactor components and lifecycle phases.
  • Knowledge of project management processes and regulatory frameworks, including nuclear codes and standards.
  • Skills & Abilities: Strong planning, risk management, team leadership, negotiation, and contract administration skills, with familiarity in radiation safety and contamination control.
  • Security Clearance: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), requiring 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada or equivalent countries.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with routine site visits requiring safety equipment.
  • Self-motivated work with occasional extended hours and travel.
