Story Behind the Need:

• Business group: International Banking Analytics:
• Work with countries in Latin America on generating insights and driving continuous improvement. Centralize strategic decision-making for regional teams by understanding the knowledge applied locally in order to implement it more broadly.
• Project: Data modernization: Exploration of data sources and the development of KPIs and performance metrics for Chile, Peru, and Mexico. In some countries, we have the data, and in others, we are analyzing information systems such as Colombia, Uruguay, and the Caribbean.

Role Overview:

• We are looking for a strategic and delivery-oriented Product Owner to lead the successful execution of the IB Commercial Data Hub Regional initiative. This role is essential to ensuring the project delivers measurable business value efficiently and on time. The Product Owner will act as the voice of the customer, translating business needs into actionable features and guiding the agile team throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Strategy & Vision:
o Define and communicate a compelling product vision aligned with business goals and customer needs.
o Collaborate with stakeholders, SMEs, and end users to shape the roadmap and prioritize features based on value, risk, and impact.
o Maintain and evolve the product backlog to reflect changing priorities and insights.
• Backlog Management & Delivery:
o Own the release and iteration backlog, ensuring alignment with the product vision.
o Lead the creation of user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
o Break down epics into clear, testable features and user stories.
• Agile Team Collaboration:
o Actively participate in agile ceremonies including planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
o Review and approve completed work based on defined acceptance criteria.
o Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the agile team, shielding the team from distractions.
• Customer-Centric Execution:
o Champion high-quality delivery and exceptional user experience.
o Use data, research, and feedback to validate features and inform decisions.
o Ensure all backlog items are traceable to the product vision and business value.
o Cross-Functional Leadership
o Partner with Agile Coaches and other Product Owners to share best practices and accelerate agile maturity.
o Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
o Contribute to organizational learning by mentoring peers and promoting agile principles.

Must-have requirements:

• 5–7 years of progressive experience in product development or management.
• Proven success in agile environments and familiarity with the full product lifecycle.
• Experience in financial services or data-driven projects is highly desirable.
• Fluency in Spanish and English is required to support regional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
• Brings a diverse background with experience in small, commercial, and large corporations.

Soft skills:

• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• A master’s degree or MBA is considered an asset.

Best vs average:

• The best candidate is someone with knowledge in Agile methodology and is a certified Product Owner, with experience participating in data modernization projects or leading initiatives involving extensive stakeholder interaction.

Interview and selection:

• 2 interviews:
o 1 round – Hiring manager, and a product owner – 45 mins – Video call MS teams – Role overview, questions about previous experiences and projects, and technical questions.
o 2nd round – Project Lead and Director – 30 mins – Video call, Ms Teams – Cultural fit, Previous experience and knowledge.
