***BILINGUAL: ENGLISH AND FRENCH SPEAKING LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY***

Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards, and recognized nursing practice.

  • Assist registered staff with nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
  • Complete all documentation on time, ensuring it is current, accurate, and in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Ensure a holistic, quality approach to resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Support resident meal services and restorative nursing activities.
  • Coordinate and perform activities necessary for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
  • Execute care following legislation, best practices, and company policies.
  • Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation for all care provided, complying with legal and internal standards.
  • Assist in mentoring new staff and students, promoting educational opportunities.
  • Attend departmental, interdisciplinary, and safety meetings.
  • Foster teamwork among shifts, staff, and adhere to the collective agreement.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, including proper body mechanics, equipment use, lockout procedures, and PPE usage.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
  • Knowledge of a second language is an asset.
  • Meet one of the following criteria:
    • Completed a Ministry of Education-approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) from a recognized community college or school approved by the National Association of Career Colleges.
    • RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy students who have completed Year 1.
  • Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
  • Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray.
  • Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certification.
  • Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act.
  • VSS clearance within the past year confirming no criminal record.
