Job summary

Labatt Breweries of Canada is seeking a Payroll Analyst to maintain timely, accurate end-to-end payroll for both unionized and non-unionized employees across Canada. You will collaborate with internal and external partners, run audits, and support stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will process payroll, resolve issues, and contribute to continuous improvements while working in a busy Toronto office.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Diploma required; PCP Designation preferred.
  • Analytical skills, Excel, reporting experience and knowledge of payroll standards.
  • Hands-on full-cycle payroll experience; familiarity with unionized payrolls.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Audit payroll processing for accuracy and compliance.
  • Address payroll issues and act as a point of contact for stakeholders.
  • Process monthly accruals and maintain Elections and Benefits.
  • Champion process improvements and payroll technology enhancements.

SALARY RANGE:

$65,600 - $77,900+

  • Actual base pay will depend and vary based on factors such as individual experience and skills of the applicant.
BONUS:

Starting Bonus at Target $9,840

  • Variable Compensation opportunities are contingent on individual performance and overall business results, pursuant to the Bonus Plan; listed amount are targeted values and not guarantees

ROLE SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Analyst is responsible for maintaining on time and accurate end-to-end payroll to our unionized and non-unionized employees within our various locations throughout Canada. The ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment is essential. The Payroll Analyst’s duties include working closely with internal and external partners and run audits whilst providing additional daily support to our stakeholders. Working within our payroll team will also provide new opportunities to bring fresh ideas and insights through various projects which are core to employee engagement and success

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and process payroll from end to end
  • Audit payroll processing to ensure accuracy
  • Address payroll issues
  • Act as a point of contact for stakeholders
  • Process monthly accrual
  • Maintain Elections and Benefits
  • Champion process improvement, modifications, updates, and enhancement in technology to ensure optimal performance in the delivery of payroll services
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Level of Education: Post-Secondary Diploma, PCP Designation (Preferred)
  • Technical Skills: Analytical Skill, MS Excel, Reporting, Knowledge of payroll employment standards, hands-on full-cycle payroll experience, unionized payrolls.
  • Soft Skills: Communication Skill (Verbal/Written), problem solving, attention to detail, confidentiality, team player, strong time management, organizational, rigorous, motivated go-getter.
  • Experience: Payroll admin experience, Large Volume payroll experience, Experience with collective agreements (Preferred)
  • Basic accounting knowledge, Knowledge of year-end compliance (Preferred), Customer Service.
  • Additional Knowledge: Knowledge of Dayforce/ Workday
  • Bilingual French/English
