Job Summary

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and maintaining relationships with existing clients within an assigned territory. This role involves meeting with clients face-to-face, understanding their needs, and promoting the company’s products or services. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, results-driven individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills.


Key Responsibilities


Sales and Business Development:

  1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business.
  3. Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential clients.
  4. Meet or exceed sales targets and quotas.

Client Relationship Management

  1. Act as the primary point of contact for clients in the territory.
  2. Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
  3. Address client concerns and resolve issues promptly.

Market Research And Analysis

  1. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities.
  2. Gather market intelligence to identify potential opportunities and challenges.
  3. Provide feedback to the company on market conditions and client needs.

Sales Reporting And Planning

  1. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, including calls, meetings, and deals closed.
  2. Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management.
  3. Develop and implement a territory sales plan to achieve objectives.

Collaboration And Communication

  1. Work closely with the sales team and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  2. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to coordinate sales efforts.
  3. Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and industry events as required.

Qualifications


Education:

  1. College Diploma in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering Technologist (CET), or related field.

Experience

  1. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints is an asset.
  2. Minimum 4 years of experience in a customer service/sales role, preferably in industrial/mechanical products.
  3. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Skills

  1. Strong sales and negotiation skills.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  4. Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
