As a Museum Security Guard, there is a high focus on customer service since you will be working with people throughout your shift in a museum environment.

Responsibilities for Museum Security Guard
  • Customer service duties such as welcoming visitors, verifying identities, and guiding visitors
  • Manage access control
  • Perform regular interior patrols to ensure site safety and compliance with museum policies
  • Respond to incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams
  • Answer questions in person or by phone
  • Write incident reports and communicate security concerns
  • Complete daily activity and incident reports with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Manage crowds during events and exhibitions to ensure safety and order
  • Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV cameras
  • Manage entry and exit points, verifying credentials and granting authorized access
Qualifications for Museum Security Guard
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Valid Manitoba security license
  • First aid certification is an asset
  • Proficient in basic phone and computer skills
  • French language skills are an asset but not mandatory
  • Must provide proof of PR status or Canadian citizenship due to reliability clearance requirements
