Job description

The Role

This position is responsible for regional leadership and management of Closing Coordinators to ensure prompt and accurate processing of the closing mortgage transactions for all Direct and Broker originated loans for all Brands.

The Manager, Funding will be accountable for the regional attainment of MCAP service level agreements for Closing Coordinators and for monitoring performance and accuracy of team members to identify gaps and provide coaching, training and development that will ensure performance excellence.

Bilingualism in French and English is required for this position to interact, support and / or provide services to French and non-French speaking lawyers, solicitors, employees and / or partners inside and / or outside the province of Quebec.

Planning and Performance

  • Managing resources to efficiently distribute weekly funding report, documentation verification and fundings between team members to meet or exceed service standards
  • Ensure all staff understand MCAP Policy and Risk Objectives to ensure high asset quality
  • Identify any changes to existing procedures or funding policies that are causing solicitors to make unnecessary inquiries or that impact productivity.
  • Accountable for managing costs that are incurred due to errors or processes
  • Accountable to meet service level standards
  • Accountable for liaising, negotiating and problem solving with service providers to ensure smooth processes and that MCAP is seen as an Expert Partner.
  • Responsible for ensuring mortgages are registered and all security is in place prior to funds being advanced and that funds are advanced on a timely basis
  • Monitor all activities to ensure they are performed within MCAP’s documented process
  • Communicate with staff to resolve any escalated issues around documentation or closings
  • Review and fund mortgages according to Loan Authority Approval and MCAP policies / guidelines
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of MCAP and market condition to transfer knowledge to team

Tracking and Reporting

  • Performance Agreements
  • Utilize Closing reports for all brands for daily review and broker / solicitor follow ups
  • Monitor dashboard to manage workload distribution
  • Lead and Manage Staff

  • Develop staff in keeping with succession planning and ongoing business requirements

  • Deal rapidly with serious disciplinary problems, such as absenteeism and performance issues and participate and recommend hiring of new employees.
