About The Opportunity

LRO is partnering with an international NGO to secure a Bilingual Meeting & Event Planner. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Engagement, the Event Planner is part of a team responsible for planning and delivering events and conferences. The Meeting & Event Planner also supports the organization with other in-person and virtual events.

Key Responsibilities include :

  • Contributing to the planning and delivery of the organization’s marquee event with over 1000 attendees, as well as multiple smaller events and meetings.
  • Supporting conference programs, speakers, catering, audiovisual needs, and meeting and exhibit space arrangements.
  • Collaborating closely with venues for accommodations, exhibit, and breakout spaces, troubleshooting as needed.
  • Developing supplier proposals, sponsorship, and exhibitor packages.
  • Overseeing event registration processes, both online and on the event day.
  • Assisting with website promotion of conferences and events, and contributing to marketing and communication plans.
  • Monitoring expenses to ensure compliance with the budget.

Candidate Profile :

  • Post-secondary education in Event Management, Project Management, or related fields; CMP designation preferred.
  • At least four years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing event logistics including programming, audiovisual, catering, and accommodations.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Bilingual in French and English (mandatory).

This is a full-time, permanent role with an annual salary of $63,000-$68,000, plus benefits including retirement options. The company is located downtown Ottawa and offers a hybrid work model, with most employees working in-office once or twice weekly.
