Responsibilities:
• Conduct intake calls with claimants and update case records.
• Review claim forms and documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Request and process medical information.
• Determine initial coverage eligibility and send communications to claimants.
• Summarize employment and lender documentation.
• Prepare written correspondence for additional information or claim decisions.
• Ensure quality, cost-effective adjudication within defined standards.
• Collaborate with the manager to meet team goals.
• Perform additional reporting and administrative tasks as required.
What you will need to succeed:
• High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Bilingual in English and French to interact with claimants, mortgage lenders, and medical providers in both languages, ensuring accurate and timely claims processing for clients in Quebec and other regions.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with diverse internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Previous experience in adjudicating life and/or disability claims within the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of medical conditions and terminology to interpret supporting documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 to efficiently manage and update claim records.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills for reviewing claim forms, receipts, and related documents.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Proven capacity to handle a high volume of claims, prioritize competing tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to respond professionally in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Adaptability to quickly adjust to process changes and evolving business requirements.
