Job description

Bilingual Late Stage Collector, Contract

The Late-Stage Collector is responsible for collecting on past due accounts and ensuring the team’s monthly targets and objectives are achieved. This role involves negotiating repayment terms for delinquent accounts or those encountering contractual difficulties. The position requires daily contact with clients through outgoing and incoming calls and correspondence, including handling general inquiries.

Day to Day
  1. Accountable for collection of designated delinquent accounts:
    • Contact delinquent customers and apply standard collection techniques.
    • Meet collection activity targets.
    • Maintain accurate paper and electronic customer files.
    • Interact with dealers and cross-functional teams to resolve collection issues.
    • Use technology to identify delinquent accounts.
    • Provide buyout, payout, and trade-up quotes to customers/vendors.
    • Make decisions within established guidelines.
    • Reconcile accounts independently or at customer request; refer to legal department when appropriate.
  2. Timely remittance of payments:
    • Send letters, invoices, and correspondence.
    • Provide correct paperwork to Lease Administration.
  3. Coordination with Legal Compliance Department:
    • Prepare paperwork for equipment returns and refer to Asset Management.
    • Compile account summaries and recommendations for legal review.
  4. Support Collection Management team with training.

Essentials
  • 3-5 years of commercial late-stage collections experience.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
  • Experience in leasing industry preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of collections operations: bailiff, resellers, fraud detection, PPSA, compliance, bankruptcy.
  • Experience handling escalated customer issues.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to work remotely and independently within a virtual team.

Pay Range: $52,323 - $78,484

The pay range reflects typical compensation; actual pay may vary based on experience, skills, and location. Benefits include healthcare, pension, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, bonuses, and more.
