Job description

We are seeking a Bilingual Engineering Student for our Ottawa District on a project in Gatineau, QC, within our Canadian Buildings Division, that is available for 4 months from May 2025 to August 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts deficiency walks.
  • Coordinates and supervises sub-trade work.
  • Takes and coordinates progress photos.
  • Tracks site progress and deficiencies.
  • Verifies site conditions and coordinates with drawings.
  • Coordinates, marks up and updates drawings.
  • Coordinates work specific scope and trades.
  • Conducts trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours, and rates.
  • Inputs and updates deficiency logs.
  • Participates in project meetings.
  • Performs quantity take-offs.
  • Produces as-built drawings.
  • Sets up and maintains record keeping.
Qualifications
  • Working towards a degree or diploma in a civil engineering related field.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is required.
  • A passion for working in a construction environment.
  • Experience with the application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
  • Self-motivation with a hands-on approach.
  • Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.
  • Completion of the ASP Construction Safety course is considered an asset.
