Job Description
- Consistently answer the phone and assist drivers with requirements such as hook-up information, departure times, delay information, and other concerns.
- Collaborate with terminal dock staff and managers to plan trips, ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective freight movement.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and be able to work shift work, including a modified 4 on 4 off rotation.
- Book hotel rooms for drivers and issue purchase orders (POs) for accommodations.
- Bill shipments in the system and manage manifesting or stripping shipments from trailers in the AS400 system.
- Maintain and update data across multiple shared spreadsheets in Google Sheets.
- Track shipments for customers calling after hours when Customer Service is closed.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
This is a French – English Bilingual position.
Qualifications
- Must be computer literate and have strong mathematical skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure, primarily communicating via phone with drivers, terminal personnel, and internal/external customers.
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods laws and hours of service legislation is an asset.
- Understanding of the Manitoulin network and equipment is an asset.
- Training will be provided as needed.
