Job summary

Finance Professionals Inc. in Downtown Toronto is seeking a Bilingual Data Analyst - SQL, Cloud for a 4-month contract. The role requires collaboration with SMEs across finance, marketing, and operations to identify and analyse datasets that support business objectives.

You will build and maintain dashboards using Tableau/Power BI, perform statistical analyses, and translate insights into actionable data requirements. Fluency in Spanish is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience in data analysis, data mapping, discovery, and modelling.
• Proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions with SMEs.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying large datasets.
• Experience with Python or R and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Spanish language proficiency is mandatory.

Responsibilities

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Bilingual Data Analyst - SQL, Cloud to identify, collect, and assess relevant datasets from internal and external sources to support business objectives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:

• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies.
• Validate data quality, integrity, and consistency, addressing issues through cleansing and preprocessing.
• SME Collaboration:
• Partner with SMEs across departments (e.g., finance, marketing, operations) to understand business requirements and domain-specific challenges.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discussions to gather insights and refine data-driven solutions.

• Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Develop and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.

• Present findings to stakeholders in clear, non-technical language, tailoring insights to audience needs.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to streamline data discovery processes and enhance data accessibility for SMEs.

Must-Have Skills:

• 3-4 (max) years of experience in data analysis, data mapping, data discovery, and data modelling.
• Proven track record of working with SMEs to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
• Experience with Python, R, or similar for data analysis and visualization, such as BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for reporting and dashboard creation.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Spanish-speaking candidates mandatory

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, pipelines and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques or machine learning fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

Soft Skills Required:

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with non-technical SMEs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education:
