Summary

The Stronger Together: Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Support Project aims to reduce gender-based violence (GBV) in the GTA through education, community capacity building, early intervention, and economic empowerment. Its goal is to create a supportive environment that addresses GBV comprehensively.

The Community Liaison (bilingual) will develop partnerships with community organizations to deliver resources and workshops on gender-based violence. The role involves assisting with workshop creation, resource gathering, and supporting the launch of interventions such as information sessions, workshops, and resource distribution. The position also involves developing best practices to prevent GBV.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager with developing and implementing outreach plans targeting community partners.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to community partners, focusing on francophone organizations, to ensure program visibility and relationship building.
  • Implement marketing strategies among community organizations, schools, places of worship, and at community events.
  • Conduct consultations with Francophone-serving community partners to gather insights and identify best practices to reduce GBV.
  • Conduct information sessions and workshops across the GTA to raise awareness and engage participants.
  • Assist with program review, evaluation, and data collection, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.
  • Execute marketing strategies with input from the project team.
  • Provide monthly updates to the Manager and ensure accurate reporting of program activities.
  • Maintain positive communication with team members to facilitate teamwork and customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Fully bilingual in English and French, with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in social services or related field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the non-profit sector, preferably with women or marginalized groups.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity, diplomacy, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources in the GTA.
  • Experience with outreach, promotional materials, and administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Office, internet, and online meeting tools like Zoom.
