Job summary

Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) is seeking a Director of Communications and Media Relations to lead internal and external communications, media relations, translation, brand and stakeholder engagement in both official languages.

Reporting to the Vice-President, External and Member Relations, you will lead the Communications and Media Relations team, shape cross‑divisional messaging and act as a bilingual spokesperson.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years+ of progressively senior communications experience.
• Experience in communications and media relations with strong writing/editing skills.
• Experience in strategic planning, project management and budget control.
• Experience building media contacts and serving as a spokesperson.

Responsibilities

• Lead CICan's internal and external communications operations.
• Provide organization-wide leadership on crosscutting communications initiatives.
• Develop annual objectives and work plans for the communications function.
• Support the President and CEO with messaging and communications advice.
• Oversee media relations strategy and relationships across languages.
