Job Description

As part of a growing and dynamic commercial team, the Commercial Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for underwriting CMHC-insured and conventional commercial mortgages. The Underwriter must adhere to established policies and underwriting standards, meeting compliance and control requirements, while finding creative solutions in a timely manner to achieve service goals and annual target volumes. Additional credit-related and administrative duties include reporting, pipeline management, and networking with external business partners and internal departments.

The Work / Le Travail

1. Analyze and underwrite commercial credit facilities daily, ensuring compliance with lending guidelines, and submit recommendations for management approval. Responsible for documentation and conditions being met in a timely manner (60%).
2. Communicate daily with external partners and internal staff to ensure transactions are processed efficiently, delivering superior customer service and meeting funding deadlines (20%).
3. Manage deal flow time effectively to meet deadlines (10%).
4. Perform monthly administrative and reporting duties for the department, supporting senior management (10%).

• Bilingualism (French/English) is a key skill.
