Job Description

What You’ll Do :

Reporting to the Manager, Curo Claims Services, you’ll be responsible for serving the members through the investigation and settlement of minor to moderate property claims. This includes establishing prompt relationships with insured members, detailed investigation of coverage, liability, and quantum ensuring fiduciary, regulatory, and contractual compliance, and adhering to organization service standards, operational targets, and core competencies.

The core parts of your role will be to :

  • Deliver a superior customer experience by responding to inquiries, initiating and maintaining contact with insured members, and assisting with claims overflow.
  • Confirm coverage for incoming claims by reviewing facts, obtaining reports, analyzing coverage and quantum, reviewing subrogation opportunities, and resolving claims promptly.
  • Coordinate with outside service providers, including contractors, engineers, and specialists, to ensure work is completed efficiently.
  • Complete all correspondence timely, including Critical Path, Proof of Loss, waivers, and reservation rights letters.
  • Gather information from various sources to complete investigations of property loss.
  • Maintain quality service and organizational standards in file handling, reserving, expense management, and file closure.
  • Support dispute resolution related to policy coverage and participate in the legislated Property Appraisal Process.
  • Identify legal requirements and standard definitions for each province’s Condominium policies.
  • Coordinate with condominium corporations on insured losses for effective restoration.
  • Protect confidentiality of claims information.
  • Ensure data integrity, manage payments, and maintain organized claim files.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in coaching, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Be an active member of Curo’s National Catastrophic Response Team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education and/or college diploma in a related field.
  • CIP designation or working towards it.
  • Provincial adjuster’s license; ability to acquire if not already licensed.
  • 2+ years’ experience with property policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and learn new software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Fluency in French is required.
