Bilingual Administrative Assistant - Diabetes Central Ottawa

Permanent Full-Time Position

Pay Scale: $38,964 - $46,945/ Annually

Pension and Benefits: Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) / including some benefits

About the Role

The bilingual Administrative Assistant is responsible for conducting initial review of referrals to Diabetes Central; interacting with clients, partner service providers or healthcare professionals by phone or email; tracking client status; conducting basic analysis of trends; providing administrative support to the Program Manager, Regional Diabetes Programs; and general office duties and management.

Requirements
  1. Secretarial diploma or equivalent training and experience, including an ability to compose simple business letters.
  2. Minimum two years working as administrative support in health or social services fields.
  3. Direct client contact experience in health or social services fields, or other working environments.
  4. Excellent listening, written, and verbal skills in French and English. French written comprehension is essential.
  5. Proficient with Windows operating system and the MS suite of products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  6. Familiar with basic website maintenance and updating, or demonstrated ability to learn.
  7. Able to operate with confidence and excellent judgement in a self-directed manner, with strong problem identification and resolution skills.
  8. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  9. Experience working with a community-based social service agency.
  10. Experience working with programs serving high risk or high-needs populations.
  11. Knowledge of community resources in the Ottawa area.
  12. Familiarity with EMRs (Electronic Medical Records).
  13. English, written and spoken.
  14. French, written and spoken.
