Job description

Our manufacturing client in Guelph is seeking a dependable and organized Bilingual Accounting Assistant with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. In this role, you will assist with general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including preparing financial statements and maintaining accurate financial records according to company standards and procedures. Fluency in English and French is required.

This is a full-time, permanent position based at their headquarters in Guelph, Ontario. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some flexibility.

Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed data entry using Sage/AccPac
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger entries
  • Reconcile bank and financial statements
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare related statements
  • Prepare financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Manage collections and resolve account discrepancies
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Maintain vendor and customer accounts
  • Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax documents
  • Process ecommerce orders and handle bank deposits and credit card payments
  • Issue vendor payments according to terms
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to financial policies
  • Perform administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
  • Proficiency in Sage and AccPac is an asset
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • High ethical standards and confidentiality
  • Positive attitude and problem-solving skills
