Job summary

XTL Transport Inc. in Montreal region seeks a bilingual accounting analyst with a strong work ethic and team mindset to support monthly closings and data analysis. The role covers journal entries, GST/QST returns, and bank reconciliations, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in accounting, proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems, with CPA designation in progress or obtained. Domestic and cross-functional collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business Administration with completed accounting courses.
• CPA designation in progress or already obtained.
• Minimum of two years of progressive accounting experience; experience in transportation is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and review of financial statements for smaller entities on a monthly basis.
• Perform bank reconciliations, monthly continuity schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts.
• Prepare GST/QST returns at period-end and maintain related records.
• Maintain accurate general ledger for various entities and handle accounts payable tasks as needed.
• Participate in cross-training to cover vacation periods and suggest process improvements.
