Job description

POSITION GOAL:

This position is responsible for ensuring accurate material costs are obtained and provided to support the pricing of Bids, Options, and SRCRs. It supports margin analysis at build compared to targets established during Bid or Option pricing and coordinates activities with the Strategic Sourcing team to achieve margin targets. Additionally, this role leads the coordination and compliance with company DBE Goals, New York Content, and other contractual commitments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Manage the completion of all costing support and analysis for Contract Bid pricing submissions by the Sales team.
  2. Manage the staff assigned to the Bids and Costing team, ensuring completion and accuracy of tasks.
  3. Represent Sourcing at Strategy meetings with Sales, PDM, and CPM for each Bid and Option to support Bid/Option pricing requirements.
  4. Validate material costs in Bid Submissions and prepare a bridge to reference bus material costs.
  5. Coordinate the receipt of contract-specific quotations from component suppliers with the Sourcing team.
  6. Validate material costs for all customer change orders within SRCR process timelines.
  7. Prepare summaries of material costs and supply risks for each contract bid for Senior Management review.
  8. Ensure Contract Specific Quoted Items are purchased at agreed values with Strategic Sourcing.
  9. Assist Finance in ensuring the accuracy of reported contract margins and explaining variances from bid costs.
  10. Manage compliance of purchasing extended warranties by SR in coordination with finance and sales.
  11. Prepare contract-specific DBE documents as required for Bids.
  12. Prepare documentation and reports for New York Content and all reporting compliance requirements.
  13. Monitor, control, and report on Reference bus material cost trends regularly.
  14. Ensure all key controls (ICFR) are designed and operating effectively within their area of responsibility.
  15. Establish and adhere to policies and processes to meet all regulatory and legal requirements, including quality, environmental, health & safety programs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • University Degree or related training/experience.
  • Financial post-secondary education and experience are assets.
  • Experience with Supply Management and procurement principles.
  • Financial background related to cost accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Process-oriented with attention to detail.
