Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking an experienced BI Developer (Power BI & Tableau) for a hybrid 6-month contract with a top Canadian bank. The role focuses on migrating dashboards from Hadoop and Cognos to Azure/Databricks, while transitioning reports to Power BI and Tableau.

You will analyze existing functionality, build advanced visuals, and implement DAX and Tableau calculations, with SQL-based data modeling and data prep tasks. This hands-on position requires 3–5 years in financial services BI.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of BI design and development experience.
• Proficient in Power BI and Tableau.
• Strong DAX, calculated fields, and table calculations.
• Solid SQL skills.
• Experience migrating dashboards/reports across BI platforms.
• Financial services domain background.

Responsibilities

• Migrate existing dashboards and reports from legacy systems (Hadoop, Cognos) to Azure/Databricks, Power BI, and Tableau.

Overview

A top five bank in Canada is undertaking a major BI development initiative and seeking experienced BI Developers to support these efforts. These are hands-on development roles focused on migrating existing dashboards and reports to modern BI platforms within a financial services environment.

Role Overview

• Position: Power BI + Tableau Developer
• Primary Focus: Support the migration of dashboards from Hadoop to Azure/Databricks and transition Power BI and Tableau reports to the new environment.
