You will locate publicly accessible Bengali PDFs, bound and label page regions, and ensure faithful transcription in Bengali script. Your work will be reviewed by a second Bengali expert to ensure quality and consistency across diverse document layouts.

Qualifications

• Native Bengali speaker with full command of the Bengali script and conjunct forms.
• Experience with annotation, transcription, localization, or Bengali QA is desirable.
• Precise, with emphasis on diacritics accuracy and faithful transcription.
• Systematic, applying consistent taxonomy across pages.

Responsibilities

• Source Bengali PDFs that include multimodal elements and record their source.
• Annotate structure by bounding regions and assigning type and reading order.
• Link regions to their parent figures or tables.
• Transcribe text exactly in Bengali script and flag illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, and layout features.
• Review a colleague’s work as part of the end-to-end process.
